Davis Argues for Joint Ticket

Hillary Clinton supporter Lanny Davis says that after the Democratic primaries are completed on Tuesday, “neither Barack Obama nor Hillary Clinton will be able to make a facts-based case that they represent a significant majority of grass-roots Democrats.”

In a column that will appear later on The Hill’s Pundits Blog, Davis argues that Clinton and Obama will have “virtually split” all pledged delegates after Tuesday.

Davis goes on to claim that only a joint “dream ticket” would “virtually guarantee” victory for Democrats in the 2008 presidential race.

Davis is former special counsel to President Bill Clinton.
