Nelson Takes The Gloves Off
Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) was asked by a committee member about the role Florida Democrats played in moving the state’s primary up to January.
The question clearly miffed the Florida Senator.
Nelson said he wasn’t planning on speaking out to “maintain party unity” but after being asked an “adversarial question” went after the committee member
Nelson detailed efforts by Florida’s Republican Governor and Republican legislature to move the primary up, knowing that it would throw a wrench in the works up for Democrats.
After beginning his testimony very composed, a clearly angry Nelson said, “we tried over, and over, and over” to find a compromise between the state and the DNC after Republicans pushed the primary up.
“You certainly, as a committee, have to recognize that a certified election took place in the state of Florida,” Nelson said.
