Pelosi Vows to ‘Step In’ to Prevent Convention Fight
Speaker Nanacy Pelosi says she will “step in” to end the contest between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton if it is not resolved by late June in order to prevent a floor fight at the Democratic convention in August.
“We cannot take this fight to the convention,” Pelosi told the San Francisco Chronicle. “It must be over before then.”
The comment came during the same editorial board session in which Pelosi told the paper, “I totally agree” with former White House press secretary Scott McClellan.
