Obama Starts VP Vetting
Barack Obama has selected former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson to begin vetting potential VP picks, according to the AP.
Johnson did the same job for John Kerry in 2004 and Walter Mondale in 1984, helping to selected John Edwards and Geraldine Ferraro, respectively.
Edwards may be in the running again, as he polls well with Obama and is thought to help compensate for some of the Illinois senator’s weaknesses. But something tells The Briefing Room Ferraro’s name won’t come up.
