Obama to GOP: ‘Lay Off My Wife’

In an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America” Barack Obama told the GOP to “lay off my wife” after the Tennessee Republican Party put out an ad attacking Michelle Obama for saying in February that she is “proud” of her country “for the first time in my adult life.”

Obama said he expected Republicans to “pore through everything that I’ve said” and “paint it in the most undesirable light possible.”

But, Obama said, the GOP should be careful if they try to make his wife an election issue, “because that I find unacceptable.”
