Fossella Keeps Realtors Appointment, But Mum About Rest Of Schedule
Rep. Vito Fossella (R-N.Y.), under fire for being arrested on a drunk driving charge and then acknowledging an extramarital affair, appeared to be in good spirits in his lone official meeting in Washington this week, the Staten Island Advance reports.
Fossella met Thursday with the State Island Board of Realtors in his congressional office, the newspaper reports. One of the board’s members said the meeting went well and that Fossella shared some “community laughs” with the group.
Fossella had failed to show at a meeting Wednesday with the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce.
He was arrested May 1 on a driving while intoxicated charge in Alexandria, Va. He has since revealed that he had a child with an Alexandria woman. Fossella, who has three kids with his wife, has so far resisted pressure to resign, but he also has kept his schedule in Washington a mystery since his arrest, the newspaper reports.
