Ventura May Try For Senate In Minnesota
Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura (I) said he may run for Senate against Sen. Norm Coleman (R) and Democrat Al Franken.
“I may go down and file,” the former pro wrestler said at a book signing, according to KARE. “I will be ‘none of the above,’ and if I win, I’ll go to Washington.”
Ventura has defeated Coleman before, in the 1998 governor’s race.
If Ventura doesn’t run, former Sen. Dean Barkley (I), who was appointed by Gov. Ventura to fill the seat of Sen. Paul Wellstone (D) for two months after Wellstone’s death, said he would run if Ventura doesn’t.
“I don’t like either of the candidates out there,” he told KARE. “And if no one else will do it, I will.”
