Democrat Travis Childers beat Republican Greg Davis in Mississippi’s 1st district special election.

As The Hill’s Aaron Blake points out, this marks the third straight big special election pick-up for Democrats.

Democrat Travis Childers won Tuesday

Democrats are backing up the assertion that they remain on the offensive in the cycle following a 30-seat gain, which has historically not been the case after a wave election.
