Most Democrats and Dem-Leaning Independents Want Clinton On The Ticket
A new USA Today poll shows that 55 percent of Democrats and independents who are leaning toward voting Democratic in November want Hillary Clinton as Barack Obama’s running mate.
Unsurprisingly, nearly three quarters of those who back Clinton’s presidential bid want her to be the vice presidential candidate. Many Obama supporters — 43 percent — want Clinton on the ticket, as well.
Most of those polled — 55 percent — said that the Democratic race should continue, though 35 percent, 12 more points than the number in the previous poll, said that Clinton should drop out.
