No Post ‘Nominee’ Bump Yet for Obama
Despite Tim Russert and just about every noteworthy political talking head declaring Barack Obama the Democratic nominee on Tuesday, Obama has yet to receive any significant tracking poll bump, nor has Clinton’s national support fallen off. Gallup has Obama up 2 percentage points today, which falls well within the line established in the days leading up to the North Carolina and Indiana primaries.
Rasmussen, which announced today it would stop polling the Obama-Clinton contest because “the race is over”, shows Obama slightly opening up his lead, 50 percent to 42 percent, the biggest gap since nearly a month ago, but not yet his widest lead in the race.
