Rep. Wu Endorses Obama

Rep. David Wu (D-Ore.) endorsed Barack Obama for president today, citing Obama’s opposition to the Iraq war before the U.S. invaded in 2003.

“I am endorsing Barack Obama for president today because I believe that he is best suited to turn the page on this sorry episode in American history,” Wu said in a statement issued through the Obama campaign. “He and I both had the judgment to oppose the Iraq War from the very beginning.”

Obama now trails Hillary Clinton 97-92 in congressional endorsements. Oregon is scheduled to hold its Democratic primary May 20 along with Kentucky, two weeks after Indiana and North Carolina, and one week after Guam.
