Clinton Leads in All Pa. Polls But One
Hillary Clinton has substantial leads in almost every poll ahead of Tuesday’s Pennsylvania presidential primary.
She leads Barack Obama by an average of 5.4 points according to the RealClearPolitics average. Her largest lead is 10 points in Suffolk University’s poll. Rasmussen has her up by 5 points, a margin that has wavered little over Rasmussen’s last five surveys. Clinton’s lead stems from her 18 point lead among Pennsylvania’s white voters, the pollsters write.
“The demographic make-up of the state seems to favor Clinton, which has enabled her to retain a modest lead despite being significantly outspent by the Obama campaign,” they write.
Clinton’s own internal polls have her up by 11 points, according to the Drudge Report.
Public Policy Polling, however, has Obama up, 49 percent to 46 percent, a lead outside the survey’s 2-point margin of error. According to the Democratic firm’s results, Obama has narrowed Clinton’s leads among women and senior citizens to single digits. He retains solid support among men, young voters and African Americans in the poll.
