Obama Announces over $40 Million Raised in March
Barack Obama’s campaign raised over $40 million in March, the campaign announced today. The campaign claimed more than 442,000 donors, more than 218,000 first-time contributors, and an average donation amount of $96 for the month.
Obama campaign manager David Plouffe called Obama’s campaign “the largest grassroots army in recent political history.”
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has not yet released its March fundraising totals.
DailyKos’ DHinMI touted Obama’s cash advantage over Clinton and John McCain yesterday. With a nearly $30 million cash advantage over Clinton going into March, DHinMI says Obama has outspent Clinton 5-1 on TV ads this month. DHinMI suggests Clinton drop out so Obama can use his money against McCain.
