Will Romney win 2012 nomination by default?
Potential Republican contenders for the 2012 Presidential nomination have been imploding at an alarming rate.
Earlier this year, Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-La.) gave a horrendous and much-criticized rebuttal to President Obama’s first address to Congress. Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) has been at the center of a constantly unfolding tabloid drama surrounding her daughter.
Newt Gingrich called Sonia Sotomayor a racist, then (sort of) apologized. Meanwhile, President Obama neutralized Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman by appointing him Ambassador to China.
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) admitted to an affair after being reportedly blackmailed by his mistress’s husband. And now, Mark Sanford has all but eliminate his 2012 prospects with this wacky performance.
At this rate, Mitt Romney will be the last guy standing when the Iowa caucuses roll around. The good news for him is he’s actually becoming MORE popular, surviving what some are already calling a “curse” on 2012 GOP contenders.
If I were Romney, I’d try to avoid walking under any ladders..
