Gibbs: Obama concerned and saddened by museum shooting

White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs said that President Obama was concerned and saddened by the shooting at the Holocaust Memorial Museum on Washington D.C. on Wednesday.

“Not too long before coming out here, I had an opportunity to speak withthe president about the shooting,” Gibbs said during the daily White House Briefing.

Gibbs said the president expressed “concern for the security guard who appears to have been hurt” and was “saddened” by the apparent bias-motivated shooting.

Gibbs said the White House would continue to be involved in briefings on the issue throughout the afternoon, and has been in touch with officials from the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI.
