On Monday, Olympic swimmer Dara Torres will testify before the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee about the need for expanded access to healthcare.
According to a committee press release, Torres “will share from personal experience how difficult it is to cope with a family member who has a long-term illness, and how progress on this issue is a vital part of health reform.”
Torres has comepted in five Olympics: 1984, 1988, 1992, 2000, and 2008. The press release says Torres has won 10 medals, but from various press accounts, it seems she’s actually won 12.
