Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.) left the hospital on Friday three days after having surgery on to remove a growth on his lung that could have been cancerous, according to his office.
The growth on his lung was not cancerous, Johann’s office said, and the senator plans to return to work on March 16.
“Stephanie and I are grateful beyond words for the outpouring of support and prayers,” Johanns said in a statement. “I truly believe the many prayers said for us were answered. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome of the surgery and I am working my way back to a full recovery. My staff is doing a great job of keeping me up to date and I’m anxious to rejoin them and my colleagues to work on the many important matters facing our state and nation.”
