Sen. Roland Burris was interviewed Saturday by federal officials in Chicago about the circumstances surrounding his appointment by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
In a development first reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, Burris was interviewed at a private office belonging to his lawyer about his appointment by Blagojevich, who was impeached on Jan. 29 by the Illinois Legislature.
Federal authorities have been probing Blagojevich since December, arresting him Dec. 9 on charges of attempting to sell his appointment to President Barack Obama’s seat.
