Senate GOP Leader Wary of $1 Trillion Package
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blasted a proposed $1 trillion stimulus package in the coming year, saying such a package needs to have safeguards and must be tailored to directly stimulate the economy.
McConnell indicated reluctance to go along with a large new stimulus package in the coming year, which some of President-elect Barack Obama’s advisers have pegged at a price tag of $1 trillion.
