Barney Frank Talks Life, Love, Lawmaking on CBS
House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said the biggest problem in Washington, D.C. is the number of people who waste his time, as the famously curmudgeonly congressman sat down for a wide-ranging interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes.”
“I’m antisocial, there’s no question about it,” Frank said. “But the biggest problem is there are thousands of people in Washington who earn a living by trying to waste my time. They repeat themselves. They ask you stupid questions.”
Frank said that while he is a self-described liberal, he is also very much a pragmatist.
“What I’m rejecting is this liberal here, pragmatist there. That’s like comparing Tuesday to ice cream,” he told CBS’s Leslie Stahl. “As a liberal, I am morally obligated to be pragmatic.
