Stevens Reports Five-Figure Legal Fees
Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) reported paying between $15,000 and $50,000 in legal fees last year, according to his annual financial disclosure documents.
Stevens did not list the exact amount. Instead, he checked the range provided under the “liabilities” category on his disclosure form and wrote in the words “legal fees.”
Stevens’ Alaska home was raided by the FBI last year in connection with a sprawling corruption probe in the state.
The longest-serving Republican senator in history, who faces a tough re-election in the fall, retained the services of the Washington firm William and Connelly LLP last year.
