Kucinich Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against Bush
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) introduced 35 articles of impeachment against President Bush Monday evening on the House floor.
Kucinich accused Bush of misleading the American public and members of Congress in order “to manufacture a false case for war.”
“President George W. Bush, by such conduct, is guilty of an impeachable offense warranting removal from office,” Kucinich said.
The articles are similar to those raised against Vice President Dick Cheney last year.
With help from some House Republicans who wanted to force a vote the last time around, Kucinich was able to briefly outmaneuver House leadership and force a period of debate for the articles against Cheney.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has repeatedly said she opposes any move on impeachment proceedings directed at Bush, calling Kucinich’s idea “off the table.”
Here is the video of part of Kucinich’s speech Monday.
