Kennedy Returns to Hyannis Port Home

Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) is returning to his home in Hyannis Port today, nearly a week after undergoing surgery for a brain tumor at Duke University Medical Center.

His office said that doctors are “pleased” with his progress and that he’ll recuperate from home. The office added that there won’t be regular updates about Kennedy’s health in the interest of family privacy.

Here’s the press release from his Senate office:

“Sen. Kennedy is returning to his home in Hyannis Port today. His doctors are pleased with his progress since surgery a week ago, and he will continue to recuperate at home before starting the next phase of his treatment. He is thankful for the extraordinary care of the doctors and nurses at Duke, and also for the continued prayers and well wishes from the people of Massachusetts and all over the country. In the interest of family privacy, there will not be regular updates regarding the Senator
