Report: Fossella ‘Hammered’ After Drinking In Logan Circle Bar
Rep. Vito Fossella (R-N.Y.), charged with drunk driving last Thursday, had to be kicked out of a trendy Washington D.C. bar hours before his arrest, the New York Daily News reports.
Fossella and a friend named “Brian” were drinking at Logan Tavern Wednesday night, bar employees told the newspaper. Fossella’s friend at one point passed out in the men’s room and fell onto a table, breaking it, the report says. At that point, employees told the two men to leave.
One waiter told the newspaper he helped flag down a cab for the men, whom he called “incapable of driving.”
Fossella was arrested Thursday morning at 12:15 a.m. in Alexandria, Va. The drunk driving charge he faces carries a minimum sentence of five days in jail.
