Turkey Slaughtered Beside Palin Bought on eBay
The turkey seen slaughtered as Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) gave a television interview has been auctioned off on eBay.
The turkey cost $225. It received only one bid.
Triple D Farm of Palmer, Alaska, described the turkey in its eBay listing as an “opportunity to gobble up a slice of Alaskan history.”
“This is the official turkey from the video which comes with a letter of authenticity signed by the Farm’s owner who is pictured below,” the listing continued. “No doubt, for the past few weeks, you have heard about this turkey over the national news, the internet and from stand up comedians.”
It weighed 37.75 pounds. Half of the proceeds will go to the local Department of Veterans Affairs.
Palin was at Triple D Farm last month in the week before Thanksgiving to pardon another turkey.
Perhaps to allay the concerns of animal rights groups, Triple D Farm wrote on eBay that it respects its animals.
“Contrary to what some may believe or have heard we butcher our turkeys in the most humane, fastest and efficient way possible,” the farm said. “We also respect Governor Palin for supporting our small family farm.”
