Obama Team Announces Policy Leaders

President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team announced leaders today for eight policy working groups that will seek to draft policy proposals on the economy, education, energy and environment, healthcare, immigration, national security, and technology, innovation, and government reform.

The groups’ leaders are as follows:

Economic: Daniel K. Tarullo, Georgetown University law professor and former Assistant to the President for International Economic Policy under President Bill Clinton

Education: Linda Darling-Hammond, Stanford University professor of education and former executive director of the National Commission on Teaching and America’s Future

Energy and Environment: Carol M. Browner, former Environmental Protection Agency administrator under President Bill Clinton

Healthcare: Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.)

Immigration: T. Alexander Aleinikoff, dean of the Georgetown University Law Center and executive vice president of Georgetown University, former general counsel and executive associate commissioner for programs at the Immigration and Naturalization Service; Mariano-Florentino (Tino) Cu
