Capitol Police Investigating Bomb Threats

U.S. Capitol police are investigating multiple bomb-threat calls made to Senate offices early Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Kim Schneider said calls started coming into offices about 1 p.m. and have so far numbered “less than half a dozen.” Police are asking Senate staffers to report any calls or suspicious behavior.

Schneider said no building evacuations have been ordered and no suspicious packages have been found. She would not comment on which offices were called, what the caller stated or whether there was any discernable pattern to the calls, citing an ongoing investigation.
