John Edwards to Appear at Illinois School in October

Former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) is scheduled to speak at an Illinois school in October in what could be his first public appearance since admitting to an extramarital affair.

Edwards will speak at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champlain on Oct. 14, the school told the Associated Press.

Edwards said three weeks ago that he had an affair with a former videographer of his 2008 presidential campaign. He denied reports of the affair while he was a candidate. After his admission, he decided not to attend the Democratic convention.
