An opportunity for change in Nevada
Reid and his allies keep telling us we need to fix our broken
government with more government. Well, voters and taxpayers are
smarter than that – which is why they will reject Reid this November.
We need to stop this careless spending and prevent decades of
job-killing tax hikes and unaffordable interest rates. I propose that
the federal government mandate not only an immediate spending freeze,
but that all federal departments and agencies cut 5 percent of their
spending, except those tasked with protecting our national and homeland
security (even though I am convinced that significant savings can be
found there, too). Senator Reid and his Washington allies have so
drastically increased federal spending in this country that we cannot
simply stop the level of spending, we need to reduce spending to get
our nation back on more stable, economic footing.
Second, we need to defund and repeal Harry Reid’s pet project,
ObamaCare. Americans and our economy do not need the additional burden
of higher debt and taxes that are parceled with a government health
care entitlement system. After all, Harry Reid has already bankrupted
Social Security and Medicare, so now he creates a third entitlement
program with a starting price tag of $1 trillion. America’s health
care system does need to be reformed, but in a way that will lower
costs and increase coverage without crippling our nation with higher
debt and higher taxes to fund it. My recommendations include national
medical liability reform, the ability to purchase health insurance
across state lines, the allowance of small businesses to better pool
their resources together when employers are purchasing health insurance
for their employees, and giving employees the option of purchasing
health insurance outside of their businesses so they don’t lose their
coverage if they lose or leave their jobs.
Finally, we need to stimulate the economy by cultivating a ripe
economic environment with immediate and permanent tax relief. Nevada
has endured record unemployment and home foreclosure rates for too
long. In order do this we need to cut the business tax on American job
providers, cut the payroll tax, and work to eliminate the Capital Gains
Tax. My plan offers a natural stimulus mechanism that allows for free
market growth, as opposed to the temporary solutions of bailouts and
federal funding purported by Harry Reid and President Obama.
In Nevada, we have an opportunity this November to replace an out of
touch, Washington insider with someone who will represent the best
interests of our state and our nation. We must fight to rein in the
federal government, and the first step is to elect a senator who will
vote to reduce government, cut taxes and protect individual freedoms.
In order to defeat Harry Reid and his infamous political machine, we
must unite behind the candidate with the best chance against him. Poll
after poll shows I am the only candidate positioned to defeat Harry
Reid in November. We need a commonsense conservative in Washington,
and as a businesswoman, I would be honored to lead the charge to
victory to bolster the success of our nation and create opportunity for
those in need.
