Job gains welcome, but influx of Census workers distorts true jobs picture

The trillion-dollar “stimulus,” signed into law by President Obama with promises that it would keep unemployment below eight percent and that 90 percent of the jobs it created would be in the private sector, has fallen well short. Out-of-touch Washington Democrats have continued their out-of-control spending spree despite economists’ pleas to cut government spending now to help jumpstart small business job growth. Even with a crushing $13 trillion national debt, Democrats won’t be passing a budget that cuts spending – or any budget at all, for that matter.

Our economy will ultimately recover, but it will do so because of the hard work and entrepreneurship of the American people, not more wasteful Washington spending. Republicans have proposed better solutions to cut spending now, help small businesses create jobs, and get our economy back on track.
