No more short term CRs

I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised. Harry Reid’s spending addiction runs so deep that he considers cowboy poetry festivals a justifiable expense. We must do whatever it takes to free our economy from the paralyzing grasp of this Democratic leadership  and make our number one priority getting Americans back to work. For that reason I voted for another three week CR, but make no mistake – this will be my last.

Liberals in Congress and the President have three weeks to stop ignoring their responsibilities and listen to the voices of the American people. It is clear they are trying to use fear over a government shutdown to score political points and browbeat conservatives into continuing their perversely profligate spending. This is unacceptable. Should they waste this final opportunity, they bear responsibility for the chaos of the resulting shutdown.

I encourage leadership and my conservative colleagues to join me in holding this line. We are giving our counterparts on the other side of the aisle one last chance to finally wake up, but we cannot move forward without a starting step that slashes spending and cuts the size and scope of the federal government.
