The Big Question: Was Glenn Beck’s rally a success?

Bernie Quigley, Pundits Blog contributor, said:
In that it brought the Tea Party out of a political context into a cultural context, it was an advancement of a theme that will rise in the century. Beck is a gatekeeper holding a lamp. The rest will open up with new people now, including Sarah Palin.

Justin Raimondo, editorial director of Antiwar.com, said:
300,000 people at a rally is a success: but what is Beck successful AT? The rally was non-political, and almost pure entertainment, at least for the people participating. In the end, the Rev. Al Sharpton was shown up for what he is — a blowhard. Of course, so is Beck — a blowhard — it’s just that he’s a smart blowhard.
