It depends on who replaces him. Rahm “never let a good crisis go to waster” Emanuel is a smart political operator, one who advised the President not to give in to the generals seeking an expansion of the Afghan war, but Obama isn’t listening. He told the Prez to ignore the left and reach out to the center on domestic issues — and Obama half-listened. We’ll see, now, what direction the administration takes, and a good indication of that will be Rahm’s successor.
