E-Verify works, creates jobs

Most importantly, E-Verify creates jobs. While 24 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed, seven million individuals work illegally in the United States. On top of all the challenges Americans face today, it is inexcusable that Americans and legal workers have to compete with illegal immigrants for scarce jobs. The facts show that if we enforce immigration laws, we open up jobs to the legal workforce.

E-Verify will help unemployed Americans of all races and backgrounds get back on the payroll and back to earning a living for themselves and their families. That’s no fantasy.
