While it has come to an end, I think a lot of good came out of Sen. Thompson’s campaign. He was the standard barer for conservative issues in this race on issues varying from entitlements to global security.
Fred really brought the Republican field to his position on issues such as immigration reform and the field is better because he ran and our nominee will be better because he ran.
He would add a whole lot to the ticket for any of these three finalists and any one of them would be fortunate to have him on the ticket. He has the presence and stature of a statesman.
Hindsight is twenty-twenty. We did stumble some coming out of the gate. We rebounded in November, but it was just too late. I still think frankly that on the issues Fred Thompson was the best candidate.
