Ensuring Health Benefits Shows Commitment to Troops (Rep. Doug Lamborn)

It is our duty as a grateful nation to ensure that the brave men and women who have given willingly of themselves in defense of our freedoms receive all benefits to which they are entitled.  Unfortunately, the needs of too many of our veterans are not being met in a timely, accurate fashion—a situation I am committed to correcting.  In July, I introduced the Veterans Claims Processing Innovation Act of 2007 (H.R. 3047), which would improve the claims process so that veterans like Marine Sgt. Eddie Ryan, a remarkable young American whom I had the privilege of meeting at yesterday’s hearing, could receive the care they need without having to suffer through frustrating, bureaucratic holdups.
