Chairman Waxman has called a hearing before all the facts are in. There is an ongoing investigation by the State Department and the Iraqi government. We should at least wait until that probe is complete before we stick our noses in it.
This incident has caused a lot of concern for Iraq’s leaders and it’s a legitimate issue for an oversight committee to address. That said, we can do our jobs better if we get all the facts first. Waxman is jumping the gun here.
