This week I called on the President to remove Robert Cobb as inspector general of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. My colleagues Rep. Brad Miller (D-N.C.) and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) joined me due to the serious issues raised in a report we recently received.
Our action resulted from a report from the Integrity Committee of the President’s Council on Integrity and Efficiency (PCIE) which found that Mr. Cobb had abused his authority by creating a hostile work environment and had created the appearance of a lack of independence in his relationships with top NASA officials and in his review of his staff’s work.
My colleagues and I joined again one day later to make clear to all federal agencies involved that they could expect further Congressional action on the matter. We have asked the PCIE for immediate delivery of unredacted copies of their Integrity Committee’s (IC) report on the Cobb investigation.
