Majority Needs to Step Up for Vets (Rep. Doug Lamborn)

The Democratic leadership has refused to move forward in advancing the veterans and troops funding.  This bill would provide funding needed to improve accountability, accuracy, and technology to ensure our veterans receive their benefits in a timely fashion and provide our troops with the resources necessary to keep America safe.  It is sad that Democrats are choosing to abuse their leadership position by playing politics with the needs of our servicemen and women who have made countless sacrifices to protect our nation.  This bill enjoys overwhelming, bipartisan support in both the House and the Senate.  These partisan games have gone on long enough.  It is time for the Democratic leaders to appoint conferees to a House-Senate conference on the FY 2008 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act (H.R. 2642).
