Enormous Crowds Greet Clintons in N.H.
Hill staff writer Sam Youngman is covering the Clinton campaign as it travels through New Hampshire and will provide periodic updates on The Hill’s Congress Blog.
Concord, N.H. — Enormous crowds filled the yard and the streets surrounding the historic statehouse here on a beautiful, cloudless day.
More than 4,000 people turned out to greet Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, as they returned to the Granite State as a tandem campaign machine for the second time this year.
The campaign said they were expecting 2,000 people, but Concord police said 4,500 people showed up.
And the Clintons were in no hurry to get to the next event this afternoon, staying well after their speeches to shake hands and sign autographs with their fans who stuck around.
Check in with The Hill later today for more updates from the campaign trail.
