Congress to Examine Importation of Lead-Tainted Products (Rep. Cliff Stearns)
The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall for several children’s products imported from China because they contained lead in levels exceeding current safety standards. I am deeply concerned with the safety of the products we are importing from China, especially regarding children’s products. We will be holding a hearing to examine how best to ensure that lead-tainted products do not cross our borders. We want to know what companies made these products, where they are located, and if agreement was reached on safety standards.
