Senate Has Accomplished Nothing Substantial for Our Soldiers (Sen. John Cornyn)
Not only have we named 20 post offices, we’ve had 300 investigations, over 600 oversight hearings — an average of 6 per day. The whole Defense Authorization bill was pulled from the Senate. Our men and women in uniform have been the denied the 3.5 percent pay raise that bill would have provided them. The MRAP, mine resistant ambush protection, vehicle, designed to defeat IED’s in Iraq are not being shipped because the bill was pulled from the Senate. In other words, we are literally doing nothing — not doing anything — that is particularly substantial.
