Administration’s Secrecy Sustains DoJ Investigation (Rep. Mel Watt)
My general take is that I started out thinking that there probably was not anything to investigate, but every time you peel back another layer of the onion you start smelling more of it, and the administration’s secrecy and failure to produce documents gives the appearance that there’s something there whether there is something there or not.
The fact that they haven’t given any documents to confirm that the firings were not based on any improper motivation or illegal motivation raises questions and continues to sustain an investigation. If they would just come forward and produce the documents and explain what happened, there may be nothing there.
I hope there is nothing there, because it would be a serious blow to people’s perception of what the Justice Department is all about.
