JFK Plot Demonstrates Coordination in Face of a Threat (Rep. Gus Bilirakis)

The thwarted terror plot at John F. Kennedy International Airport illustrates yet another example of how the local, state, and federal governments are working together to help ensure the continued safety and security of this nation. Unfortunately, it also serves as a stark reminder that there are both foreign and homegrown terrorists who wish to exploit our country’s freedoms for sinister purposes.

As a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, I want to recognize and congratulate all of the law enforcement personnel involved in preventing what could have been a potentially devastating terrorist act. Their hard work saved countless lives and protected vital infrastructure. Hopefully their actions will serve as a warning to other terrorists and help deter future plots against our nation.
