Since Congress opened under Democrat control in January, Republicans have frequently been prevented from offering legislation and amendments. On Wednesday, the Majority Party even went so far as to try changing House rules to limit Republicans right to call bills back to committee – a protection that has been in place since 1822! Fortunately, the media stepped in and began reporting the outrageous maneuver and public pressure forced the Democrats to relent. Now Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) is facing action for allegedly threatening a Republican Congressman on the House Floor. It’s no wonder that a Gallup Poll found the approval of Congress a dismal 29%!
