Gingrich to Hold Dialogue with Cuomo
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) has announced that he will hold a dialogue with former New York Governor Mario Cuomo (D) at Cooper Union in New York City on February 28.
Gingrich, who has stated that he will wait to announce whether he will seek the presidency in 2008 until later in the year, says the dialogue will be a welcome change from campaign politics of recent years.
“Campaigns nowadays just don’t seem to have substance, they don’t seem to have positive solutions,” Gingrich said. “They’re all maneuvering, and consultants, and fundraising…negative attacks. But not looking at what America needs and talking about America’s future.”
Below is the video of Gingrich’s remarks.
