A Call for Iraq Oversight
We should all be united in the desire to succeed in Iraq and win the Global War on Terrorism. Supporting President Bush and endorsing increased Congressional oversight are not exclusive of one another. To ensure the new Iraq strategy succeeds, it is imperative all parties – the Administration and the Iraqi government – produce tangible results. Through the creation of a bipartisan committee, politics will be relegated to the sidelines and real progress can be measured.
I applaud Leader Boehner for taking the reigns on this issue, and I urge Speaker Pelosi to quickly act upon his recommendation.
