Ready to Make a Difference

2006 was a year of many firsts for me.  And I am especially proud to begin my congressional career having been part of such a historic election.  I sought this office because I believed then, as I do now, that I can make a difference.  I am committed to making our government more transparent, our economy more equitable, to bringing our troops home as soon as is responsibly possible, and to helping the most vulnerable among us – the poor, our seniors and our children.

To this end, I look forward to our first 100 legislative hours because it is a great launch for our national agenda.  I look forward to taking my Oath of Office and to serving our country – especially my beloved Fourth District of Georgia.
