McConnell to bring up AG nominee next week
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday the Senate would take up Loretta Lynch’s attorney general nomination next week.

Democrats have been pressing McConnell to bring up the nomination, which was approved by the Judiciary Committee last month.
Three Republicans supported Lynch’s nomination during the committee’s vote. Some conservative Republicans, however, have indicated they won’t support her nomination because of President Obama’s executive actions on immigration.
Senate Democrats, including Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), said next week’s vote was “long overdue.”
But Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) suggested Republicans could try to hold up Lynch’s nomination on the floor next week.
“We hope that some of his colleagues won’t hold her up,” he said. “We know what they did on Homeland Security.”
