Poe’s bill, H.R. 3811, was introduced with Rep. Dan Boren (D-Okla.). It essentially legislates approval of the rejected Keystone permit.
Republicans have hammered Obama over the decision not to approve the pipeline extension and said the project would help create jobs and wean the U.S. off foreign oil.
“Energy and jobs are two things that Americans need to survive,” Poe said. “The Keystone Pipeline would provide both, free of cost to the American taxpayers. Blocking this pipeline is putting our energy security and our economic security at risk.”
